После того, как я положила приведенный выше скрипт PlayerBuild.js, положила его в ..\Assets\Editor папку и перегрузила Unity
в главном меню появился пункт Build -> BuildWebPlayer.
Когда я его выбираю, то экспорт происходит нормально и в рабочую папку проекта добавляется папка ..\WebPlayerBuild с HTML и Unity-3d файлами, которые позволяют нормально запустить построенный уровень.
В лог-файле добавляется приведенный ниже текст:

То, что касается Windows - я использую семерку.
Я действительно указываю папку с проектом для построения на диске D.
Когда я указала папку при построении проекта на диск С, то все стало нормально экспортироваться через Build and Run-настойку.
Мистика какая-то...
Но это же глупо хранить папку с проектом на системном диске С.
У меня все проекты находятся на диске D, а получается, что я должна строить веб-сборку в папке на другом диске?
